===How to assemble it===
- Fix copper pillars to Raspberry Pi 4B with screws.
- Unscrew the copper pillar and then insert M.2 NVMe SSD into slot and fix it with screw.
- Fix Raspberry Pi 4B and SSD adapter board with copper pillars.
- Fix acrylic panel to copper pillars with nuts, please peel off the plastic protect film from acrylic panel before assembling.
- Connect the USB connector to Raspberry Pi 4B and SSD adapter board.
- Connect the TF card and Power supply, keyboard, mouse and display.

==How to configure SSD ?==
- We assume that you are using Raspberry Pi OS (bookworm) 2024-03-15
Step 1
- Check if the SSD drive has been recognized
sudo lsblk
Step 2
- Partitioning
Please divide the partition according to actual needs. Here I simply divided a partition and formatted it into ext4. Please refer to the configuration method related to the fdisk command to operate.
sudo fdisk /dev/sda

sudo partprobe /dev/nvme0n1
- Formating
sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/sda1
- Create mounting point and mount the partition to directory.
mkdir mydata
sudo mount -t ext4 /dev/sda1 /home/pi/mydata -v
- Grant access permission
sudo chown -R pi:pi /home/pi/mydata
sudo chmod -R 775 /home/pi/mydata
- Modify the /etc/fstab to enable automount function.
sudo nano /etc/fstab
adding:
/dev/sda1 /home/pi/mydata ext4 defaults,noatime 0 0
save it and execute:
sudo umount /dev/sda1
sudo mount -a
sudo systemctl daemon-reload
df -Th
How to boot from NVMe SSD?
- 1. Prepare a MicroSD card and flash the latest Raspberry Pi OS image.
- 2. Book up Raspberry Pi 4B from MicroSD card.
- 3. Click Raspberry Pi icon on taskbar -> Accessories -> SD Card Copier.
- 4. Select the `copy from Device` to MicroSD card, like "/dev/mmcblk0"
- 5. Select the `copy to Device` to NVMe SSD which will recognized by system as `/dev/sda`.
- 6. Check the box on `New Partition UUIDs` and click "Start" button to transport the Operating system to NVMe SSD.
- 7. After that, shutdown your Raspberry Pi 4B and then remove the MicroSD card.
- 8. Reboot the Raspberry Pi 4B, it will automatically boot from the NVMe SSD which recognized on Raspberry Pi 4B.
NOTE: Do remember connect the USB-connector in package, it will transfer data from hat to Raspberry Pi 4B via USB3.0 port!
