This expand module is Using 4 pieces 74HC595 chips as the extension of the IO chip, its IO only support output. It supports SPI protocol communications, so it can be very fast, it can be unlimited the cascade. we often use it as a debugger . The IO port can offered a certain current, you can drive the dot matrix or water lamp with it.
